FAQ
A few of the things people most often want to know before reaching out. If your question isn't here, just ask.
Both. I see clients in person in Vancouver, and online across Canada. Many people mix the two depending on their week, and online sessions are just as effective for most of the work I do.
Individual sessions are $160 for 50 minutes or $250 for 80 minutes, with longer 100-minute sessions ($310) available for intensive or EMDR-focused work. A limited number of reduced-fee (sliding scale) spaces are also available — you can find the full details on the Services & Fees page.
Yes. Everything starts with a free 20-minute consult — a relaxed chance to meet, hear how I work, and see whether we're a good fit, with no commitment either way.
Most people meet weekly or every other week, in 50-minute sessions, though that's something we shape together around your needs and your life. Depth work tends to benefit from some consistency, especially early on.
The first few sessions are mostly about understanding what's bringing you in and what sits underneath it — your story, what you're hoping for, and what hasn't worked before. There's no pressure to share more than you're ready to; we go at your pace.
It means looking beneath the symptom rather than only managing it. Anxiety, low mood, or a stuck pattern are usually signals pointing at something deeper, and depth therapy gets curious about what they're telling you — so change lasts rather than resurfacing in a new form. You can read more about my approach on the About page.
Common areas include anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, relationship patterns, men's issues, and the search for direction and meaning — often with EMDR and dream work woven in. The Services page breaks these down.
It depends on your plan. I currently direct bill to Pacific Blue Cross. For all other providers, I'll send you a detailed invoice that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement. It's always worth checking with your provider about coverage for sessions with a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) before we begin.
Yes — I'm currently welcoming new clients, with availability on Fridays and Saturdays. The easiest way to start is a free 20-minute consult.
Yes. What you share in sessions is kept confidential, within the standard legal and ethical limits that apply to all counsellors (for example, situations involving risk of serious harm). I'm always happy to talk through exactly what that means before we begin.
I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. Your appointment time is reserved for you alone, and a missed slot is hard to fill on short notice. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 48 hours' notice; cancellations made inside that window are charged the full session fee. Genuine emergencies are an exception — life happens, and I'll always handle those with understanding.
Book a free 20-minute consult, or send a note through the Contact page. From there, we'll find a first session time that works.
